Wagner Street Retaining Wall
Wagner Street Landslide Stabilization Project
As a part of the City of Cincinnati’s ongoing investment in the neighborhood of CUF, the Department of Transportation and Engineering will begin a retaining wall project on the northern segment of Wagner Street off of Tafel Street.
On Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, Langenheim & Thompson Co., a contractor for the City of Cincinnati, will begin work to stabilize the hillside along the northern end of Wagner Street. The stabilization consists of installing 17 thirty-inch and 27 thirty-six-inch diameter drilled shafts. Precast concrete panels are to be placed between the piers with porous backfill behind.
The existing guardrail will be removed to facilitate drilling operations and later rebuilt. Pavement restoration will consist of full-depth pavement repair, pavement grinding, asphalt base construction and a new asphalt surface course.
Access to and from all residences will be maintained.
Motorists are urged to reduce speed and use caution when driving through the construction area.
The company is scheduled to finish the project by June 2013.
