MSD Project Update: Queen City Avenue Sewer Separation

As part of the Lick Run Project, the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati has been installing new storm sewers along Queen City Avenue from the Queen City Bypass to west of Sunset Avenue since the winter of 2013.

Traffic Pattern Update

Beginning Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, a traffic pattern change will occur on Sunset Avenue near its intersection with Queen City Avenue.

The left-hand turn lane from northbound Sunset Avenue to westbound Queen City Avenue will be closed for up to three months. This lane closure will allow construction crews to install storm sewer from Queen City Avenue to Sunset Avenue.

Traffic will still be able to turn right from Sunset Avenue onto eastbound Queen City Avenue.

Lane restrictions at the north end of Wyoming Avenue will occur later in the project for construction of storm sewer from Queen City Avenue to Wyoming Avenue.

As the project progresses, traffic restrictions will be removed and/or adjusted as warranted.

Schedule Update

The project is expected to be complete (including final restoration) by the spring of 2015.

Upcoming Lick Run Construction Projects

As part of the Lick Run Project, storm sewer construction work is anticipated to begin along Harrison Avenue near Moellering Avenue in the fall of 2014 and along Sunset Avenue and White Street in South Fairmount in the spring of 2015.

Future press releases will provide details on these projects.
