Section Of Ibsen Avenue To Open
Realigned Street Improves Flow, Safety
The City of Cincinnati will open Ibsen Avenue, between Marburg and Ridge Avenues today. This section of Ibsen has been realigned for improved traffic flow and safety. Ibsen is scheduled to open this afternoon (Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012).
The roadway has been completely rebuilt. The surface is new, as is utility infrastructure beneath the street. New street lighting has been installed and new traffic signal construction at Marburg and Ridge Avenue is to be completed shortly.
This work is part of the Kennedy Connector project. When the new section of Kennedy Avenue, which will connect Duck Creek and Madison Roads, Ibsen will reopen between Ridge and Kennedy. That section is expected to open next fall.
About The Kennedy Connector
The Kennedy Connector project will improve the capacity, geometry, and road connectivity in the Ridge Road/Madison Road Corridor. It will do so by creating a new section of Kennedy Avenue that will connect Duck Creek and Madison Roads and will improve connectivity to the Norwood Lateral and I-71. Other area road and infrastructure improvements will be made in the area as part of the project.
