Domestic Violence

The Cincinnati's Prosecutor's Office has a domestic violence victim advocate whose role is to mend the gaps in service to victims of domestic violence who have cases in the city prosecutor's office.  The advocate will enable the prosecutor's office to provide more comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence as they attempt to navigate the criminal justice system.  The advocate will serve as a liaison between the victim an the city prosecutor's office, providing information and notification of court proceedings, facilitating communication with prosecutors, and offering advocacy, support and referral to victims.  Increasing the capabilities of the city prosecutors for the provision of victim assistance will reduce the stress, fear, alienation and confusion victim's experience, which may eventually improve conviction rates.
