The Litigation Division represents the City in civil litigation in Federal and State courts, defends against and prosecutes claims on behalf of the City, and provides representation at various hearings. Civil Litigation investigates and processes claims related to damages to personal or real property filed by citizens against the City and is also responsible for the collection of debts owed the City.

• Labor and Employment Section provides legal representation for City departments before the Civil Service Commission, labor arbitrations, and all labor and employment matters filed in state and federal court and with administrative agencies.
• Claims, Collections and Recovery Section provides collection efforts on delinquent accounts for all City departments and process all damage claims filed with the City. For information regarding claims, please call 352-4518.
