Human Resources Development Academy (HRDA) Training

Training Tiers

Our Tier 1 classes consist of  Mandatory courses related to our “Essential Organizational Values”. These classes reflect the essential values we desire our employees to embrace. They include courses such as Managing Diversity, Performance Appraisal System, Customer Service Skills and several other courses. 

Our Tier 2 classes consist of courses to assist our employees in “ Skill Building and General Development” Some of the classes include Creative Problem Solving, The City’s Retirement System, and Financial Planning 101. 

Our Tier 3 classes consist of courses to assist our employees wishing to enter the  Management or Professional areas of our organization. Courses include, The City Manager’s Executive Leadership Program, The National Urban/Rural Fellows Program and the University of Cincinnati Executive Program. 

Also, CHRIS classes are available for version 8.3.

Registration Information

There is no fee for courses unless noted. To register for classes, contact your Department Training Registrar.    Link to Training Registrars

You may register for any non-fee course up to 3 business days before the date. You may register for any fee course up to 12 business days before the date.

Cancellations must be made at least 3 business days prior to class for non-fee courses and 12 business days for fee courses. A list of no-shows will be sent to Department Directors.

For a course that has a fee, departments will be charged 100% of the cost if a participant does not cancel within the timeframe or does not show. Substitutions may be made to avoid this cost.

Reasonable Accommodation

To request reasonable accommodation, please contact your Department Training Registrar. Questions on reasonable accommodation may be directed to the ADA Coordinator at 352-2410.

Computer Software Training

The Human Resources Department contracts with three companies to provide computer software training. For more information and to register for classes, please contact your Department Training Registrar.
