The City of Cincinnati’s Regional Computer Center is seeking to fill a Senior Computer Programmer Analyst (SCPA) position. This employee will administer the City’s Information Security Policy by the implementation and monitoring of information technology (IT) security systems throughout the City of Cincinnati. The SCPA will be responsible for employing security design and monitoring techniques to improve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the City’s IT assets using best practices in security and security products from companies such as Microsoft, Symantec, Cisco and others. Additional responsibilities include the analysis of software and hardware logs, security investigations, and the scanning and patching of security vulnerabilities. Eligible candidates must have working knowledge of Cisco security products such as PIX and ASA firewall technologies, Websense Internet filtering technologies, Active Directory (AD) group and security policies, network and Operating System (OS) log analysis, and Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP OS security tools and techniques. Database security for SQL and Oracle and Linux/Unix experience is preferred. Preferred candidate will have experience working in a high security environment. In addition, candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service aptitude and problem solving skills, strong written communication and documentation skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group and across many levels, be adept at multi-tasking, and work well in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified applicants must meet all criteria in one of the two following categories:
Completion of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, computer networking, information technology, computer programming, or other computer-related program, AND one year of professional, paid work experience in the Information Technology field.
OR
Completed 45-quarter credit hours from an accredited college or university with 30 of the 45 credit hours being in computer science, information technology and/or computer programming, AND two years of professional, paid work experience in the Information Technology field. A certification program, such as a CCNA or CISSP may substitute for one year paid work experience in the Information Technology field (completion of other certification programs not listed will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Ohio driver’s license is required for some positions. May be required to work irregular hours and be on-call. All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years. You are required to show your valid driver's license to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS. Must be a Hamilton County resident at the time of appointment.
