Senior Engineer Salary:  $59,450 - $79,896 annually
Engineer Intern Salary:  $46,470 - $62,452 annually

The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC) has several exciting employment opportunities for energetic, service-minded Professional Engineers or Engineer Interns with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.  Job opportunities are in one or more of the following areas:  Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical areas, as well as other related specialties.  Senior Engineers and Engineer Interns at MSDGC work collaboratively on projects with a broad array of professional and technical co-workers, and with citizens and other stakeholders.  MSDGC offers a fast-paced, diverse, team-based, and family-friendly work environment, with an outstanding pay and benefits package.


Planning:
Plan Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, including sewerage of undeveloped areas, sewer replacement and upsizing; major repair, replacement, and improvement of pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.

Senior Engineer Planning:
Plan and provide preliminary design, project management, and regulatory knowledge for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects with emphasis involving alternative analyses for sanitary system pump station improvements or eliminations; pump station upgrades; facility planning for wastewater treatment plants; upgrades to wastewater treatment plants and plant unit processes; asset maintenance projects involving pump station or treatment plant electrical, mechanical , and instrument systems.

Maintenance Reliability Engineering:          
Use reliability tools and strategies to improve equipment reliability for wastewater treatment and flood control facilities within the District. Preference will be given to those that demonstrate familiarity with RCM, preventive and predictive techniques, root cause analysis, planning, scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance management software.

Plant Maintenance Engineering: 
Support the MSD maintenance reliability program through the review of specifications, in-house design, complex troubleshooting, contractor coordination, field support, review of submittals and drawings, and evaluation of project alternatives.

Instrument and Controls Engineering:
Support the MSD maintenance reliability program through the review of specifications, in-house design, complex troubleshooting, contractor coordination, field support, review of submittals and drawings, and evaluation of project alternatives.

SCADA/Instrumentation:
Provide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) support in operations and management of collection and treatment systems. Oversee and manage SCADA construction projects. Review specifications and perform in-house design, troubleshooting. Provide field support. Purchase and maintain hardware and software to support SCADA group.

Electrical Engineering: 
Provide electrical engineering support for treatment plant Operating and Maintenance staff. Oversee and manage electrical engineering portion of construction projects. Review specifications, develop specifications, perform in-house design and trouble shooting. Provide field support. Assist in purchasing material to support plant electrical maintenance staff.
                                               
Scheduling: 
Use critical path scheduling in various phases of wastewater treatment and conveyance projects including planning, design, and construction. The scheduler will work closely with project managers, design consultants, contractors, and the program management consultant. The scheduler will participate in progress meetings, preparation of variance reports, problem analysis, and recommendations. Strong communication skills are needed for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Senior Engineer - Must be a registered professional engineer in the State of Ohio, or in a state with equivalent registration requirements.  If not registered in Ohio when appointed, Ohio registration must be obtained within your first year. 

Engineer Intern - Must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, or possess an Engineer-in-Training Certificate from any state.  After ten years in the EI classification without
passing the Professional Engineer registration, the incumbent will be reclassified to the Senior Engineering Technician classification. 


For both positions, you must possess or be able to obtain a valid Ohio driver’s license.  All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years.  You are required to show your valid driver's license to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS.  Must be a resident of the State of Ohio at the time of appointment.
