The City of Cincinnati Health Department is accepting applications for positions in the Central and Clinic Laboratories. The positions are full-time, day-shift and include the City’s benefit package. Testing duties include point of care assays, urinalysis, wet prep and phlebotomy. Also skills in Chemistry, Toxicology, Immunology or Environmental Microbiology (Water Testing including home sewage, rivers, streams, swimming pool waters, and biological oxygen demand (BOD) and Food Testing including wholesomeness (spoilage), contamination and foreign material) are desired.

TRANSCRIPTS showing your qualifications for this position must be submitted by the deadline date. The City does not maintain a transcript file; you must submit transcripts with each application you submit. You may submit a readable photocopy of your official transcripts in lieu of requesting a new copy from the school for each application. QUALIFICATIONS: Each applicant must have an Associates’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred. Seventy-two (72) college quarter hours in biology, microbiology, or chemistry OR forty-eight (48) quarter hours in biological sciences, chemistry and medical laboratory technology as part of an MLT program or military equivalent are required. The military equivalent should include 50 week medical laboratory procedures course and to have held the enlist rank of Medical Laboratory Specialist for a minimum of six months. All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years. You are required to show your valid driver's license to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS. Must be a Hamilton County resident at the time of appointment.
