The Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) of Cincinnati is seeking to fill an Assistant Treatment Superintendent (Wastewater Treatment Division) position. This position has direct supervisory and management responsibility for a professional level individual to assist in the management, supervision, assignment and review of the work of staff responsible for wastewater treatment activities. This person will ensure that work is performed to established quality and cost expectations and will perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. The primary goal of this position is to evaluate and improve operation and maintenance effectiveness in terms of cost and quality throughout the division. To lead team based efforts to identify opportunities for process performance improvement, effective performance measures, and cost reduction using world-class management practices. Provide effective leadership and facilitation of MSD and division strategic goals. Work effectively with all levels of staff. Collaborate within treatment and with other divisions to improve multi-division systems. Evaluate technology to identify opportunities to improve division and department productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS: Each applicant must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in wastewater treatment, including three (3) years in the management of wastewater treatment facilities at the Engineer, Supervisors, or in operations Consulting Services. A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university in engineering, chemistry, biology or related field is required. A Class III or higher Wastewater Treatment License from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) is required, no later than the end of the (12) twelve month probationary period. Applicant must have a thorough knowledge of all unit processes typically used in wastewater treatment. A valid Ohio driver's license is required. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Wastewater Collection Operator II License. All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years. You are required to show your valid driver's license to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS. Must be a Hamilton County resident at the time of appointment.
