The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC) is seeking to fill a Computer Programmer Analyst (CPA) position.  This employee is responsible for performing user desktop support, setting up new desktop PCs and laptops, troubleshooting connectivity problems, mapping network drives and printers, installing software, and performing research as needed.  In addition, this employee will be responsible for providing backup support to MSDGC’s Help Desk as needed.  The Computer Programmer Analyst will utilize working knowledge of Microsoft XP operating system, Active Directory Administration tools, Microsoft Office, Oracle Client, Symantec Ghost, TCP/IP, and SNMP (ping, trace) to accomplish their work.  Eligible candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service aptitude and problem solving skills, the ability to communicate and document effectively, be adept at multi-tasking, and work well in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:  The qualified applicant must meet all criteria in one of the three following categories:

Completion of the equivalent of 36 quarter-credit hours from an accredited college or university.  These 36 quarter-credit hours must be comprised of 18-quarter credit hours in computer science, information technology, and/or computer programming, and 18-quarter credit hours in one or more of the following areas: geography, engineering, business administration, public administration, chemistry, mathematics, or a related field, OR Completion of the equivalent of 18-quarter credit hours from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, and/or computer programming AND one year of professional, paid work experience in computer support and/or troubleshooting, OR Completion of the equivalent of 18-quarter credit hours from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, and/or computer programming and six months of professional, paid work experience in computer support and/or troubleshooting AND completion of an extended certification program (i.e. Novell or Windows NT engineer, Microsoft MCSE or Oracle DBA).  Completion of other certification programs not listed will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 

May be required to work irregular hours and be on-call.  All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years.  You are required to show your valid driver's license to the Human Resources Department staff NO LATER THAN THE DEADLINE DATE FOR FILING APPLICATIONS.  Must be a Hamilton County resident at the time of appointment.
