The City of Cincinnati’s Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSDGC) is seeking to fill a Senior Computer Programmer Analyst (SCPA) position. This employee will administer MSDGC’s Active Directory domain and utilize the existing SAN infrastructure in the implementation and monitoring of the Department’s business systems. The SCPA will be responsible for employing SAN data storage techniques to improve efficiency of data storage, backup and recovery using Veritas, NetBackup, and other technologies. Additional responsibilities include the support of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to provide high availability and responsive system performance. Eligible candidates must have working knowledge of administering Active Directory (AD) group and security policies and in managing AD Organizational Units. Candidates must also have experience working in the Windows Server 2003 environment. Preferred candidate will have experience working in a SAN or NAS environment. In addition, candidates must demonstrate exceptional customer service aptitude and problem solving skills, strong written communication and documentation skills, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group and across many levels, be adept at multi-tasking, and work well in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified applicants must meet all criteria in one of the two following categories:
Completion of an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university preferably with a major in computer science, information technology, computer programming, or other computer-related program AND one year of professional, paid work experience in the Information Technology field, OR Completed 45-quarter credit hours from an accredited college or university with 30 of the 45 credit hours being in computer science, information technology and/or computer programming AND two years of professional, paid work experience in the Information Technology field. A certification program, such as a Novell or Windows NT engineer may substitute for one year paid work experience in the Information Technology field (completion of other certification programs not listed will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Ohio driver's license is required for some positions. May be required to work irregular hours and be on-call. All required experience must have occurred within the last (5) five years.
