Two Alarm Structure Fire at 3734 Lawrence Ave in Price Hill

 

District Fire Chief Gregory A. Potter reported on a Two-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati in the overnight of January 25, 2012. At 2:32 AM the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center received several telephone calls reporting a structure fire at 3734 St. Lawrence Ave.

Initial arriving units reported a “working” fire in a two story frame building with an attic with heavy fire showing from the first floor of the building. There initially was a report of people still in the building; therefore a second alarm was dispatched. Soon after arrival of companies and after a thorough search of the building it was determined all occupants had safely exited the building. An aggressive interior attack resulted in the fire being brought under control within 20 minutes. The fire was contained to the first floor, however smoke damage throughout the building.

Damage is estimated at $20,000. There were no reported civilian injuries and one minor firefighter injury. The fire caused two adults and one child to be displaced. Cause of the fire is in under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Department Fire Investigations Unit
