Two Alarm Structure Fire 510 Riddle (2-Occupants Rescued)

Fire Captain Michael A. Washington with the Cincinnati Fire Department reported on a two-alarm fire that occurred in Clifton Heights. At 4:02 PM the Cincinnati Fire Communication Center received several telephone alarms reporting a structure at 510 Riddle Road.

Initial arriving fire units confirmed a “working fire” in a three-story brick multi-dwelling with occupants trapped above the fire. A second-alarm was immediately transmitted for additional resources due to the occupants being trapped. An aggressive interior fire attack was conducted. The trapped occupants were temporarily shelter-in-place until the fire below them was extinguished. The fire was quickly brought under control.

Afterwards the occupants were led to safety assisted by fire personnel to awaiting medical personnel for medical evaluation. Luckily none of the rescued required medical interventions. There were no reports of injuries. Smoke alarms were present and operational.

The origin and cause of this fire is currently being investigated by the Cincinnati Fire Investigation unit. The cause is currently listed as “Undetermined”. Damage is estimated at $40,000.00 dollars. Several adult occupants have been displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. Firefighters are still on the scene at this time.
