District Four Fire Chief Tom Lakamp reported a structure fire in an occupied single family home in Madisonville this afternoon. A resident in the home noticed the television had caught fire and alerted the other occupant of the home. Both occupants escaped prior to the arrival of the fire department. Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the bedroom and ventilated smoke from the rest of the building.

Damage is estimated at $10,000 and there were no injuries. Thirty-one firefighters responded to this fire.
Smoke alarms were present and operated. The residents of the home will be staying with family.
