Fire Captain Michael A. Washington reported on a one alarm structure fire which occurred this afternoon in Mt. Auburn. At 1:07 PM the Cincinnati Fire Communication Center received a telephone call reporting a structure fire at 320 Dorchester Avenue.
Initial arriving fire units discovered heavy fire and smoke showing from the first floor of two and one half story frame private dwelling. Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior fire attack with hose lines. Searches as well as ventilation activities were performed while fire fighters extinguished the fire. This fire was quickly brought under control within thirty minutes.
The origin and cause is listed as “Undetermined” it doesn’t appear suspicious. The fire is being investigated by the Cincinnati Fire Department’s Fire Investigative Unit. Damage is estimated at $100.000.00 dollars. Smoke alarms were present and sounding. Two adults and three minors have been displaced the American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing. Twenty-eight fire fighters were dispatched to this incident.
