District Three-Fire Chief Paul Weber reported on a one-alarm structure fire in the Clifton this morning at Fries Café located at 3249 Jefferson Ave.

Workers at the establishment noticed smoke coming from a door on the second floor and immediately called 911. First arriving companies found heavy fire on the second floor of the building. An aggressive attack confined the fire before it was able to spread throughout this 100 year old building. The cause in under investigation and the loss is estimated at $20,000. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
