Captain Michael A. Washington reported on a one alarm structure fire which occurred this evening in Evanston. At 8:58 PM the Cincinnati Fire Communication Center received a telephone call reporting a structure fire. A tenant left an oven unattended causing a fire on the second floor of an apartment building. Fire fighters aggressively fought this fire from the interior, searches as well as ventilation activities were conducted simultaneously. No persons were found within the building.
The apartment of fire origin was heavily damaged. Twenty-five fire fighters were dispatched to this incident. It took one hour to control this fire. Smoke alarms were present and operating. No one was injured. The damage was estimated at 25,000 dollars.
