District-Three Fire Chief Anson Turley reported on a one-alarm structure fire that occurred at 3015 Reading Rd. in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Avondale. The Cincinnati Fire Communication Center received a telephone call stating the Carx muffler shop was on fire. When companies arrived on the scene they noticed a large amount of fire coming from the roof of the Car X building.

It took twenty-eight firefighters from six fire companies ten minutes to control this fire which was confined to the roof of the one-story structure. Damage is estimated at $ 40,000.00 dollars There were no smoke alarms in the building. The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire. There were no injuries to either civilians or firefighters. The origin and cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature.
