The CBRNE unit represented Ohio Region 6 on the Hazmat Tactical Planning Committee. Their primary duty was to develop plans for state response to hazardous materials.

Lead in Fire-EMS-Hazmat homeland security response strategy in the region in areas of monitor/detection, decontamination, extraction, and mass casualty incident response.
