The Cincinnati Fire Department Training Bureau is responsible for the initial training of fire recruits and the on-going training of 800 uniformed fire fighters. The Training Bureau provides the training needed to comply with nationally recognized standards.

The Bureau's mission is to provide the highest quality training and instruction for Cincinnati Fire Department fire fighters. The goal is to prepare Firefighters to serve their community in the most efficient and effective means possible, and to ensure fire fighter safety as they deliver public service.

Some of the training a Cincinnati Firefighter and Recruit may receive includes (but not limited to) the following:

Classroom / Practical Training:

  • Flashover/Hose Deployment Training
  • 800 MHz Radios
  • Marine Firefighting
  • Fire Fighting Scenario – Quick Drills
  • Mine Safety Appliance (MSA) Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • 800 Mhz Train the Trainer
  • Dupont CAER Car
  • EMT Refresher Modules 1-8
  • CPR Instructor

Recruit Training:

  • EMT-B
  • Professional Firefighter
  • Hazmat Operations
  • WMD
  • Fire Safety Inspector

Video / Computer Training:

  • EMS
  • HIPPA
