The Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) is a 21-member volunteer advisory board that assists the Human Services Section of the Department of Community Development in administering the City's General Fund Operating Grant and Community Development Block Grant Programs. It advises the Human Services Section regarding grant application and monitoring processes, actively participates in the review of grant applications, and makes recommendations to City Council regarding which programs should receive grant awards. The Committee also advises the City and Human Services Section regarding human services policy issues and special projects. In addition, the HSAC participates in the selection of consultants who are hired to evaluate City-funded programs or to provide training for City contractors. HSAC members are appointed by the City Manager. The term of service is three years. Committee members may be reappointed for a second consecutive term. Reappointment to a third consecutive term may be made in exceptional circumstances.
