MetroWest Commerce Park

The MetroWest site is located on the site of the former Queen City Barrel property in Lower Price Hill. This project has remediated approximately 18 acres of brownfield property into the MetroWest Commerce Park, a new light industrial and service center business park just minutes away from downtown Cincinnati. The $25 million project is expected to result in approximately 250,000 square feet of new light manufacturing, flexible warehouse and office space, which would house an estimated 400 jobs.

The project is managed through the City’s Strategic Program for Urban Redevelopment (SPUR). In September 2007, the City was awarded a $3 million Clean Ohio Fund grant for the demolition and cleanup of the MetroWest site. Following the completion of these grant activities, additional contamination was discovered on the MetroWest Site. In 2009, the City was awarded a $475,000 HUD Economic Development Initiative (EDI) grant to complete remediation activities at the MetroWest Site. The City is currently working to complete soil and groundwater remediation. Following the completion of remediation activities, the City expects to receive a No Further Action (NFA) Letter from the State and a Covenant Not to Sue (CNS) which will enable Resurgence Group, LLC to market the site for Development.
The City expects the project to be complete by July 2012.
