Human Services Competitive Grant Programs
The Department of Community Development’s Human Services Division administers the City of Cincinnati General Fund Operating Grant (GFOG) and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs.

In January 2008, Cincinnati City Council convened a Human Services Commission to review and make recommendations regarding the City’s Human Service policy. This Commission made recommendations related to the City’s current policy that dictates funding for human services agencies. City Council approved the recommendations of the Human Services Commission in June 2008. The full text of the recommendations can be downloaded here: Human Services Council Recommendations

The following items are currently under review and will be announced pending a decision by City Council:
    · 2009-2010 Timeline for the Human Services Process
    · Selection of a Review Team
    · Format of the Concept Paper and subsequent Application Format
    · The minimum and maximum requests for funding
    · Reimbursement vs. Advance Payments process

Once these issues have been resolved, the Department of Community Development will publicize specific information as well as where and when proposals can be submitted.
