PROGRAM: Use an interdepartmental team to identify sites available through the Hamilton County Delinquent Real Estate Tax Roll that can be acquired by the City and made available for redevelopment.
PROGRAM GOAL: Return abandoned property to use.
TYPE OF ASSISTANCE: Make sites available for redevelopment.
REPAYMENT: Property must be developed as specified.
BENEFITS: Lower site acquisition cost. Tax generating development on previously underutilized City parcels.
ELIGIBILITY: Recipients of CLRP sites must produce the proposed development within one year or site reverts to City ownership.
CRITERIA: Demonstrated development capacity.
STRUCTURE: Contractual purchase of property by developer.
ELIGIBLE/ INELIGIBLE USES: Owner occupied housing and job producing commercial developments are the goal.
EVALUATION: Annual site visits by staff during the development period will determine if the proposed project is meeting the CLRP guidelines.
RATES/FEES: Payment of site cost is determined by Hamilton County Auditor's Valuation.
APPROVAL: Projects are chosen by a multi-department, architectural review committee, with final contracts approved by City Council.
PROGRAM EXAMPLES: Potterhill Homes is constructing single family homes on two CLRP sites in Evanston in late 2002. A parking lot expansion is being accomplished in Mt. Auburn for an attorney's office. Four homes are proposed for three former CLRP sites on the Mt. Auburn hillside in 2003.
