The Department of Community Development administers the City of Cincinnati General Fund Operating Grant (GFOG), which provides operating support for non-profit human services agencies.
The City’s Priority Areas adopted by City Council in this highly competitive process are to:
- Meet the emergency social needs of individuals and families (30% of budget);
- Promote self-sufficiency (40% of budget); and
- Reduce violence in the community (30% of budget).
The City’s Human Services Grant Program is overseen by a community-driven group appointed by the Mayor called the Human Services Advisory Committee. The annual Human Services Grants process is facilitated by the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
