Maps & Conservation Guidelines
When reading through the conservation guidelines, you should refer to those sections that apply to the work you are considering – rehabilitation of an existing building, new construction, site improvements, etc.
If you should have any questions about the conservation guidelines or whether your property is designated as a local landmark or located in a historic district, please contact the Historic Conservation Office staff.
Local Landmarks
The City of Cincinnati has designated 30 individual properties as local landmarks. Photographs, a map and conservation guidelines for these properties are provided below in PDF format and require Adobe Acrobat reader.
Local Historic Districts
The City of Cincinnati has designated 22 areas as local historic districts. Maps and conservation guidelines for these historic districts are provided below in PDF format and require Adobe Acrobat reader. Printed copies of the guidelines, many of which are illustrated, may be requested from the Historic Conservation Office staff.
**These local historic districts have been certified by the Secretary of the Interior as substantially meeting National Register criteria. Rehabilitation of properties located within these districts may be eligible for Federal Tax Credits (www.nps.gov/hps/tps/tax/index.htm) and Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits (www.development.ohio.gov/UD/OHPTC/).
