Organizations


Many local organizations work to promote and enhance cycling in Cincinnati.

Bike/PAC
Bike/PAC is a citizen led advocacy group. Their mission is to make Cincinnati a bicycle/pedestrian friendly city, thus enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors. Their purpose is to: serve as advocates for bicyclists and pedestrians in Cincinnati and environs; encourage bicycling and walking as alternatives to the single-occupant automobile by recommending public improvements and conducting and supporting events that promote bicycling and walking; and educate decision-makers and the public on the benefits of bicycling and walking for commuting and recreation.

Bike Newport
The mission of Bike Newport is to advocate for bicycling, improve bicycling conditions, educate residents about bicycling safety and promote a progressive image of a bike-friendly city.

Cincinnati Cycle Club
The CCC has been in existence since the 1880's. They promote bicycling for recreation, health and friendship. They have members of all ages and abilities. Some are casual riders and some like to feel the breeze as they speed along city or country roads. Whether you are a newer or experienced rider, you'll find rides that fit your interests.

Cincinnati Parks Department
Cincinnati Parks has incorporated bike trails into several of their recent and future projects. The Theodore M. Berry International Friendship Park is a sumptuous and award-winning display of sculpture and flora representing five continents and also featuring a riverside bike trail and walking paths. The Cincinnati Riverfront Park is the new 45-acre park set to rise along our city's historic riverfront. There will be 12 acres of lawn, walking and biking paths connected to the city's other parks east of downtown, and a bike center featuring shower facilities, bike repair, rentals, and storage.

Metro
Every Metro bus is equipped with a front-mounted bike rack that's easy to use. Best of all, when you pay your fare, your bike rides free!

Mobo
The MoBo Bicycle Cooperative is a non-profit volunteer-run cooperative dedicated to making cycling accessible and practical to everyone in the greater Cincinnati area. They build community by providing a welcoming and communal workspace, knowledgeable staff, and the tools and parts for cyclists of all ages and skill levels to repair, maintain and acquire bicycles. Members learn from and teach one another by sharing knowledge and experience. Mobo facilitates healthy and sustainable transportation through bicycle programs, events, and advocacy in our immediate community and beyond.

Ohio River Way
The Ohio River Way (ORW) is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization working to promote, protect and celebrate the natural beauty and recreational benefits of the Ohio River, our region's most important natural asset. The ORW is currently working to raise funds to complete the Ohio River Bike Trail (downtown Cincinnati to Lunken Airport) and to create and promote the Ohio River Water Trail to help paddlers and power boaters alike safely explore and Ohio and its tributaries.

OKI
The Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) is a council of local governments, business organizations and community groups committed to developing collaborative strategies to improve the quality of life and the economic vitality of the region. Bicycle program staff at OKI developed the 2009 Cincinnati Bike Route Guide and the 2008 Regional Bicycle Plan.

Queen City Bike
Queen City Bike is a non-profit organization that promotes bicycling as a safe and healthy means of transportation and recreation in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Queen City Bike's all volunteer membership creates and implements a series of bicycling education and advocacy initiatives throughout the year.

TANK
All TANK buses are now equipped with bike racks for easy on-easy off bike loading. TANK's Bike & Ride program offers you another way to get around Northern Kentucky while getting some exercise and saving on high gas prices.
