Bike commuting means different things to everybody, and before you start it's important to understand why you ride. This will impact where you ride, how frequently you ride, and what gear you may need. REI, Rookwood Commons.
- The Right Angle is the Best Angle
Always slow down and cross streetcar tracks at a 60 to 90 degree angle. Crossing incorrectly can result in your front tire sliding on the rail or geting stuck in the gap next to the rail, which can cause you to fall from your bicycle.
- 4 Local Trails Get New Mile Markers
Four paved trails will receive new mile markers this week, helping first responders locate injured trail users more quickly.
- Cincinnati Installs Bicycle-Friendly Thermal Traffic Sensor
The City of Cincinnati has launched a pilot project that will utilize a thermal traffic sensor to detect motorists and bicyclists at a Clifton intersection.
- Updated Bicycle Network Map
The Bicycle Transportation Program has updated the map of existing bicycle facilities within the City. The map shows the location of existing bicycle facilities such as bike lanes, sharrows, and shared-use paths.
- Green Lanes On Central Parkway
A special bright green treatment is used in high-traffic areas where motorists turning onto or off of Central Parkway cross over the path of the new bicycle lanes.
